Mentored by renowned illustrators and artists such as Karen Santry, Joe Denaro, and Bil Donovan, Fashion Art NYC is dedicated to revolutionizing the neglected yet intriguing art of fashion illustration. These artists have drawn at New York Fashion Week for Oscar De La Renta, Bebe, and Emu Australia, as well as exhibiting their work in W Hotel in Times Square and the Museum at FIT.
Elvis Alberto Torres is an Illustrator with a degree in Fashion Illustration. He was born and resides in New York City. Always having a passion for art, he decided to come to the school of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology studying Fine Arts but soon realized his true passion was in Illustration. Having a background in Fine Arts, Elvis's works tend to have extra energy to them. Elvis loves to play with colors and different mediums to achieve his unique look. Working in both digital and traditional mediums. He prefers to work with Oils and Acrylics when not working digitally. He also free lances in graphic design in his spare time, ever expanding his artistic horizons in the ever changing world of the arts. His main goals are to one day become a recognized Illustrator and distribute his artwork through all mediums from canvasses to clothing.
Minnie Wang is an illustrator graduated with a degree in Fashion Illustration at Fashion Institute of Technology. She believes beauty is in the eye of the beholder and enjoys illustrating her concepts and perceptions of beauty. Minnie works with both digital and tradition mediums such as ink and brush. As an illustrator based in New York City, her inspirations are endless. She attends various fashion shows and view fashion magazines to keep up with the latest trends. Minnie's illustration for Oscar De La Renta was selected and posted on their tumblr and facebook fanpage. Her goal is to become a well known illustrator and to show her works worldwide.
James Skarbek is a New York based Fashion Illustrator currently residing in Brooklyn. He just completed an Associates Degree in Fashion Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and is continuing on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in General Illustration.
Fashion Illustrator graduated from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) aiming to become a repertoire artist. At the moment, she uses the skills she learned from FIT to do works not only for fashion related illustrations but also lifestyle.Her works were currently featured on an exhibit from April and May 2011 in the W Hotel in Times Square NYC.
A graduate of Fashion Illustration from Fashion Institute of Technology, New York based Illustrator and Graphic Designer, Pat is is usually heavily caffeinated and up all hours of the night creating images inspired by fashion, beauty, creatures, stories within the amazing city she lives in and the people that surrounds her. She enjoys working digitally while incorporating traditional elements into her pieces. Occasionally, a random zombie dog might appear or a half sleeve design might surface which is just her delving about in her constant journey of exploring and expanding as an artist.
Graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Montreal, Canada. Worked in Toronto's fashion industry before moving to New York. Completed her Fashion Illustration AAS at FIT May 2011. Currently available for freelance.
Kim Gee is an illustrator and comic artist based in New York City, known for her stylized figures and opposition of watercolor with graphic black lines. She recently completed a degree in Fashion Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and will be continuing her education this fall studying Communication Design. She also maintains a autobiographical web comic updated twice weekly, and has self-published three issues of the comics available at select independent bookstores across the country. Michelle Quintero is a New York based Illustrator, with an Associates Degree in Fashion Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She currently resides on Long Island, where she balances a part time job designing graphics for WorldView Software with the attainment of her BFA in General Illustration. She specializes colored pencil and graphite, with an emphasis on portraiture in a majority of her illustrations.
Illustrator Youjin Moon was born on April 30, 1991 in Seoul, South Korea, and was raised in Indonesia. Youjin developed affection for Illustration at a very early age. She is currently working towards her BFA Degree in Fashion Illustration at FIT to accomplish her dreams. Youjin is well rounded with various mediums; in particular, she enjoys using pen, ink and watercolors. Her works are mostly relaxed, sometimes creating dynamic through unexpected details. Currently, she is highly committed to fashion and advertising industries. She looks forward to bringing her exceptional ideas and liberated style for everyone to indulge.
Kayla Burdon is an illustrator originally from New Jersey, and currently pursuing her BFA in Illustration at FIT. In her time there, shes gained a lot of knowledge about the world of commercial art and illustration. She believes that art is heavily influenced by what is happening in the world, and finds most appealing illustrations that have a darker yet humorous undertone. Her style has been described as creepy, whimsical, sexy and awkward but does have fashion flair. She primarily uses pens and grey-toned markers for her figures, and one or two bold matte colors to tie it all together. Someday, she hopes to illustrate in different countries and inspire all to embrace their awkward side.
Devon Pentz is the self-proclaimed 'fastest drawer at FIT. She is a curious individual who loves taking extra classes in art history and surface design. At age 15, she attended the prestigious Huntington School of Fine Arts where she developed a passion for drawing the figure in a loose and fast style. She has drawn on location at New York Fashion Week in shows such as Oscar De La Renta, Bebe, and Emu Australia. She is currently a creative intern at PMc Magazine.
I'm currently a illustration student at The Fashion Institute of Technology. I'm in love with fashion illustration. My goal is the make it big in this world and help fashion illustration make a come back! I have some work experience with Berger and Stevens and I hope one day I can work for Giorgio Armani and Bergdorf Goodman, just to name a couple.
Cristel Schoen is an illustrator based in New York, recently graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology with her degree in Fashion Illustration. She is currently working toward her BFA in General Illustration, combining both the graphic nature and spontaneity of her fashion illustrations into more finished lifestyle pieces. Her work is a result of the utilization of both traditional and digital media combining ink, gouache and other wet media with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Alicia Kubicki is an artist born and raised in New York. She has studied Illustration and Textile Surface Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology. Alicia's use of color and texture adds a unique quality to her work. Art created by Alicia has been featured in The Museum at FIT, and has also been displayed at a Yoga Event hosted by Russell Simmons.
Alexandra is currently a Fashion Illustration major at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She works in all medias including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, but her true love is traditional drawing and painting. Combining the two; computer with original artwork, is such a thrill to her and forces to incorporate design into her work. Alexandra's pieces are kooky at times, but always refined. This year she graduated with her Associates degree in Fashion Illustration, and is then moving onto the BFA Illustration program.
